One of the largest events in the Mazatlan yearly calendar is the Easter celebration, called the Semana Santa. This celebration is held every year during the week proceeding Easter Sunday, as people from all over Mexico descend on the beaches of Mazatlan. Hotels and resorts in Mazatlan normally reach 100% occupancy during this week, so be sure to get your reservation in early! Another major holiday in Mazatlan is the Day of the Dead, celebrated every November 1st and 2nd. This holiday is celebrated in memory of lost loved ones with the building of altars and feasting. If you’re interested in learning about Mexican and Mazatlan culture, AGA Rent-A-Car highly encourages you to reserve your Mazatlan car rental during this highly ritualized holiday. Other holiday celebrations in Mazatlan include Christmas, New Years and April Fools Day (celebrated on December 28th).
